BLACK MOUNTAINS LIONS 105W 2010 ANNUAL JUNIOR SCHOOL QUIZ

Once again the Lions afternoon of quizzing for the local Junior schools was a great success and our thanks go to Gwernyfed for providing the venue and to Pat for organising the event.

There were teams representing 9 local schools with Hay School taking 1st prize of £300 for the school and £20 book tokens for each team member. Members of the Hay school team were Luke Cohen, Ivan Meredith, Glen Sakharov, Andrew Barrell and Lily Biggs. They are now the trophy holders for the year.

This year questions were harder, but everyone still managed an impressive minimum of 8/10 in the Maths section.

Bronllys and Lyswen tied for 2nd place, which Brollys took, having come nearest in a tie breaker - how high is Everest? 2nd prize was £100 for Bronllys school with a £10 book token for each team member. Lyswen won £50 for their school and a £10 book token each.

All other contestants won a £10 book voucher.
